Colorado State Football!

This past weekend we went to the CSU/Idaho game at Hughes Stadium in Fort Collins.  WHOA.  This is sooo different from UGA football I am not sure where to start!

First off, gates don't open for tailgating until 11am!!!!  And then, it is a huge field and everyone drives in an parks.  Very few tents...just cars and trucks.

Second, THERE IS NO LIQUOR ALLOWED.  Allegedly.  A CSU cop came over and took my 3/4 full handle of Jack Daniels, claiming "there is no glass allowed and no hard liquor, either."  There is also no beer pong or flip cup allowed :(

Third, there are lots of cops who like to come around and randomly check ID's.  I met one that went to Sprayberry...haha.

Forth, the stadium is about half the size of Sanford Stadium and is off campus, at the bottom of the foothills.

Very different.  But still fun.  I love tailgating :)  Excited to REALLY tailgate for the UGA/CU game in Boulder this Saturday!!!!

FINALLY FALL

We are finally getting some fall weather out here! I thought I had left that long, hot summer behind in Georgia, but it has been ridiculous.  There have been a lot of grass fires out here which has been really heartbreaking to watch on the news.  The one in Boulder, obviously, was horrible.  There were 2 more closer to Fort Collins--one in Loveland (25 min south) and one north of Fort Collins.  Luckily those were under control fairly quickly.

Also, I finished my first grad school project and presentation! Damn....feels to go have one out of the way. Only several more to go.  Im getting to observe clients, which I love.  I cant wait to be doing therapy next semester!

This pic is from Old Town (downtown) Fort Collins.  Love that bright blue Colorado sky!

Life and School Out West

I just decided to start a blog to keep everyone updated about what I am up to!

I am now in my 4th week of grad school at Colorado State in Fort Collins, CO.  I ABSOLUTELY love it out here--and much to some people's dismay, might be sticking around for awhile.  I have been so fortunate to have found a program that fits so perfectly.  My professors and supervisors are amazing, caring people who are also brilliant contributors to the field of Marriage and Family Therapy.  I have started observing therapy sessions and I cant wait to get started with clients (although I am a little nervous...)!

I have made some wonderful friends out here, and we are having a ton of fun! We have done Tour de Fat, Oktoberfest, breweries, and Margarita Fridays.  Up next....a CSU football game.  The biggest surprise. TICKETS ARE FREE.  Yes, FREE.  Who would have thought you could go to a college football game for FREE. Definitely not in Georgia anymore....
